ATSUSHI OGATA

Atsushi Ogata is an award-winning film director, screenwriter, actor and comedian. Raised in London, Tokyo and New York, Atsushi graduated from Harvard and MIT and has worked in Europe, Japan and the US.

Atsushi's screenplays received funding in Germany and the Netherlands. He appeared weekly as a comedian on Dutch TV. His award-winning short "Eternally Yours" was selected for New Directors/New Films at the MoMA & Lincoln Center in New York. His comedy feature "Cast Me If You Can" was released theatrically and screened on TV, iTunes and international airlines. 

Trained in acting at HB Studio in New York, Atsushi appeared weekly as a comedian on Dutch national TV in the Netherlands, and in films, videos and web series. (More information on Atsushi's acting can be found here.)

More recently, Atsushi has expanded into web series with his  iconic, comedic, cross-cultural Yukata Cowboy ® series and its spin-offs and has been garnering prizes at festivals around the world, ranking #12 in the Web Series World Cup in 2015 and 2021. 

Atsushi has also been performing stand-up comedy about his cross-cultural misadventures in New York, Tokyo, Boston, Los Angeles and online during the Covid lockdown.
